Mrs. Zell's Classroom

This is my professional website following my growth from student to educator

Introduction

My name is Rosalie Zell. I am currently a student at Walden University seeking my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am prepared to graduate with my teaching certificate in the spring of 2024. This website will support me throughout my program at Walden and grow with me as I develop new professional aspirations.

Who do I aspire to be as an educator?

Educators must possess a multitude of skills to create and maintain a positive learning environment. As an educator, I aspire to be caring, fair, well-educated, and patient. I plan to create a modern classroom that is interactive, engaging, and safe. I will do this through the following four efforts; utilizing technology, creating positive relationships, making learning relevant, and applying learning differences when creating lesson plans.

Technology

In modern-day education, Technology is an important resource for teachers to utilize. Technology can be used to facilitate independent, whole group, and direct instruction. Using technology appropriately can be used to elevate lesson plans and increase student engagement

Positive Relationships

Developing positive teacher-student relationships is one of the most important things teachers can do to create a safe learning environment. These relationships start with communication. Teachers who take time to ask about interests, share stories, and spend 1 on 1 time with their students will develop stronger student-teacher relationships.

Relevant Learning

Making learning relevant encourages student engagement. Teachers can make learning relevant by making connections to student interests and real-world responsibilities. Relevant learning techniques include incorporating hands-on activities and creating authentic learning experiences.

Learning Differences and Preferences

Every student is unique in their learning preferences, differences, and abilities. Students are more likely to be interested and engaged in learning that respects those differences. By creating lesson plans that appeal to a variety of learning styles more students are likely to be actively involved and learning.
